Primary and Secondary Colors

Posted by dheiyzhie12 Friday, June 25, 2010 0 comments

Primary ColorsAnother memorization for David. This time it is not a poem but spelling. They are told to memorize the spelling of the primary and secondary colors. Primary colors - red, blue and  yellow; Secondary Colors - green, orange and violet. I just taught him the spelling of primary colors but he haven't master it yet. I am planning to teach him the secondary colors maybe later this morning. Wew... a lot of memorization for a 5 year old kid.

Pre-school Training

Kids Writing Desk with Hutch and Tack Boards in Multicolored FinishDavid who is 5yrs old doesn't enjoy writing. Even when he was at nursery he would bring home unfinished writing work. Yesterday when I open his notebook I saw that his teacher asked them to write "Toys." They are asked to finish two columns on the notebook but he did not even finish the first column. I asked him last night to do it. I saw his disinterest on his face when I asked him to do that. Unlike if we are answering some activity books. He had a hard time with the letter 's.' Most of the time he write it in reverse position. I don't know how will I encourage him into writing. If I have time I usually asked him to write his full name on a pad paper. He's spacing is not good yet but writing lines is much better now compare when he was in nursery. I hope after kindergarten he will be more interested in writing.

I still remember when he was a little baby, his first teeth, his first time to walk, his first time to talk, his first time at school. Wew.... I guess few more years and he will have his own life and I will be there to be his guardian, his friend, his mother. To my little boy, Happy Birthday... mommy love you so much!

Two Way Mirror

Posted by dheiyzhie12 Friday, June 18, 2010 0 comments

Can you tell when you are in a hotel room, restroom, motel etc. with a
mirror whether it is in fact a mirror or 2-way glass?

                                      Here's how:

I thought it was quite interesting! And I know in about 30 seconds you're
going to do what I did and find the nearest mirror.... Do you know how to
determine if a mirror is 2-way or not?

This is not to scare you, but to make you aware. A policewoman who
travels all over the U.S. and gives seminars and techniques for
businesswomen passed this on. When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel
rooms, changing rooms, etc.., how many of you know for sure that the
seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or
actually a 2-way mirror (i.e., they can see you, but you can't see them)?
There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female
changing rooms. It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by
                           just looking at it.

So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror
we are looking at? Just conduct this simple test:

Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if
there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it
is a GENUINE mirror.  However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the
image of your nail, then BEWARE, FOR IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!

                       "No Space, Leave the Place"

So remember, every time you see a Mirror, do the "fingernail test." It
                        doesn't cost you anything.

Remember:  "No Space, Leave the Place"

Quotes from a Friend

Here is another lists of quotations that I keep receiving from my friend Pinky.

"Special persons are always treasured in my heart, remembered in prayers and wished all the best in life, for they are God's precious gift!"

"Closeness of friendship doesn't need every  minute conversation... as long as you find time to smile remembering crazy moments together. Its the closest thing ever."

"We know that it is better to get wisdom than gold or silver; better to be humble among the poor than to be proud among the wealthy; better to control our temper than to rule a country. Some people have the ability to be both wise & wealthy. But when faced with a choice between the two, Proverbs says wisdom is better alternative. A little wisdom is better than a lot of wealth."

"You can never change the past nor control the future... But you can change the mood of the day by touching someone's private part....THE HEART."

"God is the one who knows the song in your heart. He sings it back to you when you forget the lyrics. You are His precious melody."

"Life has so many great options. But you don't have to always pick what seems to be the best. Just pick whatever makes  you really joyful and peaceful."

"When arms can't reach a special person. I always fold my hands in prayers. May you always be filled with strength, wisdom and love."

"In times you're sad about what is going on your life. Just remember one permanent fact: Everything changes... Tomorrow might be different."

"One tight embrace could deliver a thousand more words and a thousand times better than the mouth can express."

"We can be fine even when others do not have a good opinion for us. What matter most is not what others think of us, but what we think of ourselves. Besides, a true intelligent person is the one who can pretend to be a fool in front of a fool who pretends to be intelligent."

How to teach Pre-school Memorization

Posted by dheiyzhie12 Thursday, June 17, 2010 0 comments

Favorite Poems Old and New: Selected For Boys and GirlsIt was David's first day in kindergarten and his first time to memorize a poem. They were asked to memorize an 8 lines poem. He was already crying when I was teaching him the first two lines. My temper is also reaching its limit that I decided to take a bath. Anyway I still need to go to work during that night. The following morning he was able to recite it but not still making mistakes once in a while. 6 more lines to go and I am thinking of a better technique on how my little boy can memorize it. If you have any idea please post a comment. Thanks!

Working Abroad

My husband is having a hard time finding a job here in the Philippines. He is jobless for so many years  and is already feeling useless. I don't judge him that way. He may not be our provider but he is a good husband and father to us. He take good care of our kids and me and do some household chores. I know not all man can do that, and I am proud of him. He tried several times applying abroad. Before I asked him not to go because the offer is too small. Now he is willing to grab it. He said better than nothing. He was given an offer in Kuwait as an office boy and was given an offer of 60KD. I think it is about P10k in peso. Free lodging and food is included. Someone told him that he may not be able to eat the free food but he doesn't need to worry because the food there is very affordable. Later today he will have his first medical examination. If I will be asked I don't want him to go. Well maybe it is time for me to be stronger and be able to stand alone without him beside me. I always relax because I know he is just beside me to do the things I cannot or don't want to do. But if he leaves I need to be very flexible and strong. I hope we are making the right decision.

Back to School

Disney Pixar Cars - Super Drift - 15" Large Rolling Trolley BackpackMy little David is now at kindergarten. Later is his first day at school. I want him to be in a morning schedule but sad to say there is only one schedule available, 1pm. Robin is planning to have a medical exam today. Good thing his school service visited us yesterday asking what time he would pick up David. During his vacation, he spend his time playing his Nintedo DS and playing computer games. I was not able to spend time with him and make some review on letters or alphabet. I am planning to have him read his book in advance so that he will not have a hard time. My problem with David is he is too shy. He doesn't want to mingle with other people unless he already knows you for quite sometime. I don't know what to do to boost his confidence. He may not be as genius as other kids but I know he has his own skill. He can work on his own and answer activity books that I bought.

Flower on the Mountain Cliff

I've read this story before but still it touches my heart when I read it again. This was emailed to us by one of our Team Leader at work. Read the story and learn from it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My husband is an engineer by profession. I love him for his steady nature
and I love the warm feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders.

3 years of courtship and now 2 years in marriage, I would have to admit
that I'm getting tired of it. The reasons for loving him before have now
transformed into the cause of all my restlessness. I am a sentimental
woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my
feelings. I yearn for the romantic moments like a little girl yearning for
candy.

My husband is my complete opposite. His lack of sensitivity and inability
to bring romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about
love.

One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision -- that I wanted a
divorce.

"Why?" he asked, shocked.

"I am tired; there are no reasons for everything in the world!" I answered.

He kept silent the whole night, seeming to be in deep thought, with a
lighted cigarette in his hands at all times. My feeling of disappointment
only increased. Here was a man who couldn't even express his predicament.
What else can I hope from him?

Then finally he asked me, "What can I do to change your mind?"

Somebody said it right; it's hard to change a person's personality and I
guess I started losing faith in him.

Looking deep into his eyes, I slowly answered, "Here is the question. If
you can answer and convince my heart, I will change my mind. Let's say, I
want a flower located on the face of a mountain cliff and we both are sure
that picking that flower will cause your death. Will you do it for me?"

He answered, "I will give you your answer tomorrow..."

My hopes just sank by listening to his response.

I woke up the next morning to find him gone and saw a piece of paper with
his scratchy hand writing, underneath a milk glass, on the dining table
near the front door, that went...

"My dear, I would not pick that flower for you, but please allow me to
explain the reasons further..."

The first line was already breaking my heart but I continued reading.

"When you use the computer, you always mess up the software programs and
you cry in front of the screen. I have to save my fingers so that I can
help to restore the programs."

You always leave the house key behind, thus I have to save my legs to rush
home to open the door for you.

You love traveling but always lose your way in a new city. I have to save
my eyes to show you the way.

You always have the cramps whenever your "good friend" approaches every
month; I have to save my palms so that I can calm the cramps in your
tummy.\

You like to stay indoors and I worry that you will be infected by
infantile autism. I have to save my mouth to tell you jokes and stories to
cure your boredom.

You always stare at the computer and that you will do nothing good for
your eyes. I have to save my eyes so that when we grow old, I can help to
clip your nails and help to remove those annoying white hairs, so I can
hold your hand while strolling down the beach, as you enjoy the sunshine
and the beautiful sand and tell you the color of flowers, just like the
color of the glow on your young face.

Thus my dear, unless I am sure that there is someone who loves you more
than I do, I could not pick that flower yet, and die."

My tears fell on the letter and blurred the ink of his handwriting and
continued reading...

"Now that you finished reading my answer, if you are satisfied, please
open the front door for I am standing outside bringing your favorite bread
and fresh milk."

I rushed to pull open the door and saw his anxious face and his hands
clutching tightly the milk bottle and loaf of bread.

Now I am very sure that no one will ever love me as much as he does and I
have decided to leave the flower alone.

That's life and love. When one is surrounded by love, the feeling of
excitement fades away and one tends to ignore the true love that lies in
between the peace and dullness. Love shows up in all forms, even very
small and cheeky for forms. It has never been a model. Flowers and
romantic moments are only used and appear on the surface of the
relationship. Under all this, the pillar of true love stands and that's
our life.

Love, not words, wins arguments. =)

Cervical Cancer Vaccine

Posted by dheiyzhie12 Thursday, June 3, 2010 0 comments

I will visit my OB after my shift to have my last dosage of Cervical Cancer Vaccine. It is quite expensive but just like what they said prevention is better than cure. It cost me P9000 total. It comes with three dosage. The second vaccine will be given on the second month after the first and the last vaccine is 4 months after the 2nd. It cost me P3000 per vaccine.

Cervical cancer is the third most common type of cancer in woman. It is curable if detected at an early stage. Having an annual pop smear is recommended to avoid this disease. I would recommend this to all women out there. Money spend for your health is not wasted.

  • She knows how to clap her hands
  • Enjoys watching colorful games on my little boy Nintendo DS
  • She recognizes people and would not come or cry to strangers
  • Very curious about small things (I should be very careful because she might swallow it)
  • She can day da-di once in a while
  • She loves making noise when playing and makes baby sound while smiling showing her teeth
  • She enjoys playing with water specially when taking a bath
  • She doesn't want to be left alone and sometimes doesn't want to stay inside the crib
  • She has a thick black hair that her bangs covers her eyes
