A Beautiful Story

Posted by dheiyzhie12 Wednesday, July 28, 2010 0 comments

I've read this story before but it still touches my heart when I read it again. This was emailed to and just wanted to share it to every one specially to all working mom out there.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A woman came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find her 5-year old son waiting for her at the door. SON: 'Mummy, may I ask you a question?' MUM: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the woman. SON: 'Mummy, how much do you make an hour?' MUM: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the woman said angrily. SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?' MUM: 'If you must know, I make $20 an hour.' SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down. SON: "Mummy, may I please borrow $5?" The mother was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.' The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.. The woman sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or so, the woman had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $5 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The woman went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door. 'Are you asleep, son?' She asked. 'No Mummy, I'm awake,' replied the boy. 'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the woman. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $5 you asked for.' The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you Mummy!' he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The woman saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his mother. 'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the mother grumbled. 'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied. 'Mummy, I have $20 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.' The mother was crushed. She put her arms around her little son, and she begged for his forgiveness. It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $20 worth of your time with someone you love. If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

UTI in Kids

Last Friday David, who is 5 years old, got confined in the hospital due to vomiting. From morning until noon he vomited 10 times. He needs to be hospitalized to avoid dehydration. His body would not accept anything. He would vomit when he drink or eat. In the morning I find out that he has UTI. I am not aware that UTI can cause vomiting. I thought the symptoms is just problem with urinating. Now I know that it can also cause fever and vomiting specially for kids. I am not sure though was caused his UTI. We will visit his pedia after a week for another check up.

Chickenpox Vaccine

Rhaine just celebrated her first birthday last week, July 10, 2010. We visited her pedia last Sunday for her chickenpox vaccine. It was funny because she did not cry a lot. She was so brave, as soon as the doctor removed the needle she also stopped crying. This vaccine cost P2500, wew. I find vaccines very expensive. In September she will be given PV13, a booster for Pneumococcal. I was told to prepare P4800 for this. I know these vaccines are very important but I hope our President Noy Aquino would do something about this very expensive medicines. I've heard that in other countries medicines are not that expensive compared here.

Visit to the OB

I just visited my OB yesterday to have my quarterly injection for our family planning. Prevention is better than cure. I had my pop smear too and my OB also check my breast. She said it looks like everything is ok and one more thing I am already done with Cervical Vaccine.

She told me a story about her client whom she already did 3 CS operation. She said this lady at the age of 38 was diagnosed of breast cancer. She was telling me that we should always have regular check ups to avoid such problem.

Time pass by really fast. I still remember my big tummy last year, the day of my operation, the day we left the hospital. Everything are still fresh in my memory. Now my little girl just turned one. Thanks to God for my two kids.

Happy Birthday Rhaine Danielle!!!

God is so Good

This is the 2nd poem that my little David needs to memorize at school. The first is in Filipino which he haven't memorize the last 4 lines. I am very happy because last night before I go to work he recited it to me. He already knew the whole poem. Teaching my little kid lets me learn and memorize too, hehehe. Below is the poem "God is so Good."

God is so Good

God gave me
My two beautiful eyes,
My ears, my nose
my head, my body,
Down to my toes.

God is so good
To give me life
To fill my world
With wonders of His love.
