Osteoporosis Awareness

Posted by dheiyzhie12 Sunday, October 31, 2010 0 comments

Yesterday morning when I turned on the TV "Salamat Doc" topic is about osteoporosis. I've been hearing about this disease for a long time but I am just ignoring it. I guess now that I am not getting younger I am more conscious of my health. Specially those diseases that are common for woman. Early this year I was able to finish the last dosage of Cervical Cancer Vaccine.

Osteoporosis is a disease of the bone. It is a condition characterized by a decrease in the density of the bone, decreasing its strength and resulting in fragile bones. As we grow older we are getting more prone to this disease. According to the doctor this is a silent disease. You will never know you have it until you get fracture. We need  more intake of calcium as we age that is why supplements are recommended. Vitamin C and D are also needed for  better absorption of calcium.

They feature a woman who was taking steroids for about 20 years because of lupus. Her bones got weaker because of the intake of steroid and her body is deteriorated. Her body structure becomes smaller, she has deformed limbs, she has a hard time walking and her back has a hump. With the new technology doctors can now check the density of our bone through DEXA Scan. This process can only take around 15minutes and this will help doctors analyze if we are in danger of osteoporosis. I wonder how much would it cost to have that scan. I hope it will be part of our APE (Annual Physical Exam) at work.

McDonalds Halloween Party

Posted by dheiyzhie12 Friday, October 29, 2010 0 comments

Yesterday my little David keep on asking me if he could go with his cousin to attend a Halloween Party at Mcdonalds. We are also leaving to visit the developer of our house to process the turn over. I know he has nothing to do there. He would enjoy the party rather than coming with us. Her Tita told me that the party has a fee of P150 for the food and toys. I was making a joke and told him if he would go the party he would no longer join their school field trip. He stop for a while and think. He said ok but let us buy a Honda City, LoL. Anyway I let him come with them and I see the happiness in his face when he come home. He showed me all of the toys that he got. I just hope next time when he attends a party I would be there so I can take pictures of him.

I was able to grab these pic from Facebook

Hot Mama

Posted by dheiyzhie12 Wednesday, October 27, 2010 0 comments

One of my dreams is to have a good looking body even if I already have two kids. I want to be someone whom you can call Hot Mama, (hehehe). Actually my original problem is my tummy. I find it too big. I hope I can flatten it. At least I would not have a hard time choosing clothes. When I was still single I am thin and I don't have problem buying clothes. Unlike now there are very few choices. It is very disappointing to find clothing that you really like but then nothing fits you, haayss. I am a shy type person so I prefer doing exercise at home. At least I can have better privacy and I can wear anything I want. Nobody will complain how loud my music is and what music I am playing. The best thing of all doing work out at home is free. I don't need to worry about membership fee.

I guess I can try the Insanity Workout. It is a 60 day program in a DVD. I just need to spend at least 30mins a day for the 1st month and at least 45mins a day on the 2nd month. It comes with 10 discs with cardio and plyometrics work out. The first set of work outs are plyometric cardio circuit, cardio power and resistance, cardio abs, pure cardio and cardio recovery to be ready for the next month of more intense workout.

Another workout that is really interesting is the Turbo Fire Workout. It is a 90 day workout with no equipment needed. The days are longer compare to the Insanity Workout however you spend shorter time a day. You just need 15-20 mins for resistance band and plyometric work out. This is designed by Chalene Johnson, the fitness guru that created the nationally famous Turbo Jam. It comes with 11 DVDs with 12 different workouts.

PX90 Workout is also a 90 day or a 3 month workout that features resistance training, yoga, kenpo, stretching and lots of cardio. It comes with a 3-phase nutrition plan designed to let you ace the nutrition side of getting into shape. Just like what they say, you are what you eat.

Zoobic Safari

David is very excited about their field trip. Supposedly it was last October 19, 2010 but because of the Storm Juan it was moved to November 9, 2010. Last year his dad accompanied him and this year his dad will go with him again. According to the school they will go to Zoobic Safari, Boardwalk, Jest Camp, Bat Kingdom and Duty Free.

We've been to Manila Zoo and Avilon Zoo. I guess it would be another adventure visiting another zoo. I haven't paid his field trip because of too many bills that I have. I hope before the said date I will be able to pay for it. I want him to enjoy while he is still young. I remember when I was still in high school I was able to attend all of our field trips. It was really fun to be with your classmates and friends travelling to different places.

Selecting Paint for Your Room

Wm Zinsser, William 2774 Perma-White Mold And Mildew-Proof Interior PaintI was browsing the web looking for vinyl flooring to use for our house and also for a good color of paint to use for our rooms. I accidentally saw this website https://www.sherwin-williams.com/visualizer/ which is very good visualizer for selecting a good paint. You have an option of uploading a picture of your room and try it with different colors of paint. They also have some sample pictures that you can use to do your visualization. I find it really fun and helpful. I hope this would help you also in selecting a good paint for your room. Work with your imagination.

Teacher's Day

Posted by dheiyzhie12 Tuesday, October 5, 2010 0 comments

I used to watch "Show Time" before I go to sleep in the afternoon. I was not aware that it was teacher's day yesterday not until Vice Ganda greeted all the teacher's. Then last night before I go to work my and son David and I are talking about Christmas and gifts. Then he told me that his school mates brought gifts for their teacher. Aw!!! My bad... I was not able to prepare gift for his teacher. Anyway he is only in kinder so I guess he was not really affected. I hope next school year I would able to remember to buy something for his good teacher. My husband told me he saw a reminder in David's diary that it is teacher's day the next day but he did not inform me. Any way I would like to greet and thank all Teachers all over the world. You have touched a lot of people, continue to be a blessing!
